Prophetic accelaration training - Pastor Ilya 091125

Many are called but be a vessel that is useful to the Kingdom.

COVENANTS, OATHS, AND PROMISES

God is a god of covenants, oaths and promises.

Deutoronomy 7:9 He keeps his covenants and mercies. His nature.

Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2 Unlike men, He doesn't lie.

Since the beginning, God made covenant with humajity.

Covenants are binding, like a contract, but more deeper:
1. Contracts have expiration, terms on both parties.
2. Covenant involves your entirety, who you are, not only part of your life.
Covenant ties to you as a person.
3. Even if a covenant is broken by one party, it is still in active and withheld by the other party. Unlike contract, if breaks, it gives the legal right to other party not to fulfill their obligations.

God made covenants with Abraham, Noah, David, old and new covenant, both are sealed by blood. He swears by himself and give oaths.

2 Cor 1:20 God's promises is yes and amen.

Heb 6:13-18 God binds himself with an oath. He submit himself by his own words.

God takes His covenants, oaths and promises seriously. He stands by his words. He sent forth his word and it will not return void.

We are children of God and He wants to produce his nature within us - to be a people of our word and people who keeps promises and oaths.

Matthew 5:37 Jesus emphasized  do not swear by heaven or earth. Let your yes, be yes and no, no.

Be a person of your word because that reflect the character of God.
When you say something, do. When you promise something, do. In a contract, be a person of your word because that pleases God and reflect his character.

There is a power in vows and oaths.
Approach and take the seriousness and  do not take them lightly. Knowledge is power.  What you will learn, you will become conscious. Whom is given more, more will be asked. There is a greater responsibility.
This is a double-edge sword - it would benefit you or curse if mishandled. When done properly, there is power release.

Sample:
1. 1 Sam 1:10-11,27-28 Hanna made a vow to God in the depth of her distress.
God honored her vow and opened her womb. Later,  she fulfilled her vow - gave Samuel to Eli.  God continued to bless her with more children.
She prayed earlier but this time, the prayer she made has a vow.

Vows have power and move God's heart. They are legal mechanism in spiritual world. It is beyond natural pleading and asking.

God keeps his promises as long as we keep our promises.

2. Gen 22:16-18 Abraham obeyed God. God made a covenant with him because of his obedience. That covenant is still valid.

3. Joshua 2:12-14 Rahab and spies made an oath. Joshua honored his oath to Rahab. Rahab became ancestor of Jesus. They didnt made an oath to God. They didnt know God will destroy the city. Rahab was not a good woman but because of this one act - her oath - She became Jesus ancestor.

God honors oath made by men between each other.

4. Isaiah 38:1  2 King 20:1-11 Thru a prophet, God prophesied Hezekiah will die. He prayed and pledge faithfulness to God for healing. God reverse his own prophetic oath and gave 15 more years.

Power of oaths and covenant.

These were done with deep recognition and understanding.
God honors oaths and commitments - prayers are answered and blessings are released.

A power of vows is unlock If vows are done in full understanding and commitment,  it will bring immediate results into their lives.

Dangers of careless vows and broken oaths and promises

1. Joshua 9:18-20 Joshua made an oath not to kill Gibeonites, though they fooled him.
2 Sam  21:1-9 Saul broke it and killed them. Then in David days, famine came. He brought a restitution to apeace God's anger so judgement of God be removed in them.

The Gibeonites fool them but they were bound to the oaths.

2. 1 Sam 14:24-228 Saul vowed no one eat until evening but Jonathan ate honey. But he was unaware of it. Saul did it in desperation or rush but it almost kill Jonathan.

We can't do careless oaths and vows.

3. Judges 11:30-40 Jepthath vows to sacrifice whoever comes out of his house but it was his daughter. He has to fulfil his vows and killed her.

Foolish vows cannot be taken lightly. The depth of what it means to vow.

4. Acts 5:1-11 Ananias and Sapphira promised to give to God all the sale but secretly kept part of it.  They were aware of their commitment. God's judgement was death to them.

When vows are broken, God's judgement and anger goes to those people.

Broken promises to God especially when done in full awareness, provokes severe consequences and angry of the Lord.

SUMMARY:
1. God is a god of covenants, oaths and promises. He keeps His word and He expects us to do the same.
2. There are benefits and power release when vows when done properly. If use in the right moment and follow through, it can unlock something in your life that prayer alone cannot unlock, like Hanna.
3. But when vows, promises and contracts are broken, it provokes the anger of God.
4. Ancestral broken vows that you need to break.

Many of us struggles in our lives because we made promises to God, to people and to ourselves and broke it. Inquire of the Lord if there is and repent. Make restitution to make it right.

Many of things in our lives is not a matter of prayer but of principles. Prayer should lead to fix broken principles. Ask the Holy Spirit. Repent and figure a way to make restitution, if possible.

We could be stuck in life because of broken vows.

Inner vows: "I will never be... " or spoke negatively about yourself. You locked yourself.

HOMEWORK: Broken promises to God, other people, yourself and ancestral vows. Ask forgiveness and repent.

James 5:12  Let yes be yes and no,  no or be condemed.

Live a life of your word. You pray for  blessing on right hand and on left hand you attract curses.
